April 29, 2025 at 8:29 amI had borrowed approximately 4 lakhs from a man to fund my startup. At the time, I was unaware of his true character. Recently, he has been accused of sexual harassment and the police have arrested him. The alleged victim in this case is the same person who helped me secure the funding from him.Currently, Iβm not in a financial position to repay the amount immediately. The accused is attempting to defend himself by claiming that the woman took money from him. In reality, the official transaction was made to her, and she subsequently transferred the funds to me.
I fully intend to repay the amount, but I need some time. My concern is whether the authorities will demand immediate repayment or hold me accountable in any legal way. How can I protect myself in this situation?

April 29, 2025 at 1:23 pmBy what you have described it appears that the accused wants to take a defence that the money was allegedly paid to obtain sexual favours. Such transactions are illegal and usually such a defence does not succeed in a case of sexual harassment. If the accused wants to recover the amount from you, he now has to file a claim against you which will then water down his defence in the criminal matter. Donβt worry, even if he wants to recover the money, he has to go through legal means. Try and build back the corpus and refund the amount. It is best not to have dealings with such people.-

April 30, 2025 at 4:56 pmPlease engage an advocate, show them all the correspondences and take their advice. Do not go to the police station without this. Cops have a way of playing both sides so be careful.
