Hi everyone, I was hired for a senior role in a big MNC in India and started working on the 24th of January. I do not have any probationary period mentioned in my appointment letter. Itβs been almost 3 months now, and I am not enjoying the work. The work is not challenging enough and I am mostly watching reels on my phone! I donβt see any growth in this role. What I was told during the interview and what was mentioned on the JD does not align with the work I am asked to do.
I have received a better offer from my previous employer (non Indian company, remote offer). I LOVE the work there and the only reason I left was to be in India, closer to my family. The only problem is that they want me to join ASAP.
I understand that I need to serve a 3 month notice period or pay them the 3 months salary in lieu instead. Is there any way I can avoid doing either? I cannot abscond as I have 2 company laptops in my possession. I donβt need any experience letter from this company.
