Please shed light on the legality of posting in social media screenshots of private conversations (instagram dms, linkedin messages, whatsapp messages, etc) without the express consent of the other party involved.

Please answer only in context of Indian law (cite them or judgements relevant to it if possible).

Is it a blanket ban or does it depend on the context of the conversation? (like if there’s a possible harm/damage of reputation of the person involved) in sharing of those screenshots.

I also see a lot of ss being posted on ig about weird dms. is it legal to do so without consent?
