March 2, 2025 at 1:22 pmFather passed away a few years ago, but still some MF investments in his old savings account are active at a bank. I’m (32M) the nominee. Bank said father’s PAN card is needed for documentation to transfer funds to my account. Problem is, we’ve lost his PAN card. Google is giving multiple different answers like you can download, you have to file in police station, only reapply, etc. all confusing to me.Kindly guide me in what are the next steps to get a new card for father? I’m aware PAN should be inactive for deceased persons, but right now we need it for bank documentation.
Please guide. Thank you.

March 2, 2025 at 1:35 pmIf you have his aadhar and his phone number active, you can download EPAN from nsdl website.(given his pan is linked to aadhar)

March 2, 2025 at 1:41 pm2 things –Is it not required to file a police report of some sort? I can just download ePAN and move on?
Also, not sure if Aadhar-PAN are linked, I’ll check. But if not linked, is it okay for me to proceed to link them (for a deceased person)?

March 2, 2025 at 6:03 pmNo, we know the PAN number. We only lost the card. That’s all. A physical card is what’s needed now.-

March 2, 2025 at 6:12 pmThey are lying. There is no need for physical pan card.Ask for bank complaint register and write down complaint.
MF transmission is fully offline process. If you are nominee, it will be smooth

March 2, 2025 at 5:19 pmIs the PAN Card linked to a mobile number? Then just log in to the web site and order a new pvc card online. And download the e pan.-

March 2, 2025 at 6:07 pmWill have to check if the number is linked. If it’s not linked, is it okay for me to do that or not (since my father’s deceased)?I’m not sure of the legal implications of these actions, so want to be careful about the next steps.

March 3, 2025 at 11:19 amGo to nsdl website and apply for reprint of card. Cost 50 rupeeshttps://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html
Your pan isn’t ‘lost’ since you know the pan number, you just don’t have the physical card. Go to the above link to get the physical copy of the card
