Hey everyone,

My spouse and I got married ~5 years ago and never got the marriage registered (thanks to COVID at the time + procrastination after that). We’re finally trying to sort it out now in Delhi.

I’ve checked a few older threads, but most of them are not very clear on the actual *on-ground* process. Would really appreciate if someone who has done this after a delay can share how it went.

Also — trying to avoid agents if possible. A couple of them quoted ~₹5000, which feels unnecessary if the process is manageable on our own.

And one specific confusion:
Some posts mention that affidavits are needed not just for the couple but also for witnesses. Is that actually required in Delhi?

Any recent step-by-step experience, tips, or things to watch out for would be super helpful! 🙏
