March 30, 2025 at 12:17 pmLast year, I purchased a Star Health OPD policy through a PolicyBazaar agent. At the time of buying, the agent clearly told me the policy covers both reimbursement and cashless OPD claims. Based on that, I went ahead with the purchase.Fast forward to now — I tried to make a reimbursement claim, and they’re telling me that reimbursement is not covered under the policy. When I raised a concern with PolicyBazaar, they escalated it… and now the same agent called me back, pleading that his salary will be deducted because of my complaint.
This feels incredibly unfair. I was misled into buying a policy under false pretenses, and now I’m being emotionally manipulated into dropping the complaint?
I’ve reviewed my policy document, and it only mentions cashless — nothing about reimbursement. So technically they may be “legally correct”, but I was verbally promised otherwise during the sale. Unfortunately, I don’t have a recording of that call (though I believe they might).
What I want to ask:
• Has anyone else faced mis-selling like this via PolicyBazaar?
• Is there a way to get compensation or refund for such mis-selling?
• Should I take this up with IRDAI or Consumer Court? Any experience with this?
• Am I being unreasonable for keeping the complaint open?Would love to hear thoughts from the community — I’m not trying to get anyone fired, but I also don’t want to let this go quietly if I was clearly misled.

March 30, 2025 at 12:22 pmPlease watch you tube video “how to buy correct health insurance” by labour law advisor channel. It’s not advisable to buy OPD add on under insurance because it’s not worth it since it increases premium.
Policy Bazar agents lie left right center. Talk to Beshak or ditto and take insurance.
Stay away from star and care insurance. They are terrible and keep them as last option.
