April 23, 2025 at 4:31 pmhere i am yet again with another issue regarding my passport. So now I realised that my mother’s name is spelled differently in my passport (it was captured according to my marksheet) and her current name is different, will this cause any issues for me in the future?
Another thing, the police asked for her LC and that has a different name too (a third name) for which we are making a gazette but it still wont match the name captured in my application…
is there any way I can get the name changed in the application to her current name? The psk visit is done and I am currently in the police verification stage
Should I cancel this application/ get it rejected and reapply for another one? Will it cause any issues? Can I visit the RPO and request for a name change?
Please help I am extremely worried

April 23, 2025 at 6:53 pmYup. Most likely they will raise an objection at rpo level. Ur name and parents name should match between your 10th marksheet and 2 supporting docs that u attach. You get 2-3 months to answer that objection. In that time, u can get 2 newspaper advertisements or gazette notification and submit it at rpo. They will treat it as name change and approve it. Passport department accepts newspaper advertisements as proof of name change
But ur case is a bit complicated. As there’s one more document with another name. Not really sure, what’s the best way to proceed ahead
