January 16, 2025 at 5:45 amI(27F) moved here with my parents due to job and my mother’s health condition(she has Crohn’s). I am residing in Thanisandra, my parents purchased an apartment here in 2023. Since last year, our neighbors, living above us has started making noises at odd hours, even after 12am, sometimes it goes on till 1:30-2:30 am. They say that they have a kid, and every single time I raise a complaint they use their kid as an excuse. If i complain at the security, what normally people do in this case, they’ll say we are harassing them. If we put messages in the tower group which again people normally do that, they’ll say we are abusing them. Yesterday they made a false harassment complaint just because I asked him to stop making noises the entire day, in the group chat. I never went to their place personally to tell them anything, my mother once went to them to request them, they secretly video recorded my mother and god knows to how many people the so called man of the house has distributed the video to. Yesterday at the police station he bought 4-5 men along with him who were wearing something which resembled the Karnataka flag. Now its just me and my mother living here, my father lives in Hyderabad. Since yesterday I am scared for my mother’s safety. I am a person battling from depression and I am not able to take this anymore, especially after what happened yesterday. If someone can help me take legal advice. Please do. PS many things has happened, I have just given a summary. -

January 16, 2025 at 6:59 amBut why are you scared? They have accomplished their goal by making fear. For police this is petty case they won’t bother in this much.-

January 17, 2025 at 9:32 amIf they have a kid, then there must be some genuine issue they are facing with a child. A child cannot be chained and expected to sit still. Moreover, the kid has all the right to play inside his house. You also mentioned you donโt want them to make noises the โentire dayโ. Thatโs absolutely impossible with a small baby/toddler. I know and understand the difficulties and challenges of having young children at home(ask any young parent today and they will tell you the same). Maybe you can speak to the society to establish quiet hours? Not sure how much that will help since a child is involved.-

January 17, 2025 at 10:32 amYes, this happens. Nothing unusual. Not all kids sleep peacefully through the night.-

OP
January 17, 2025 at 10:35 amIt sounds like the furnitures are getting dragged because the noises are loud!! and yes this happens every night!! See I understand kids will make noises but parents should also cooperate right? If they want to drag furnitures or any heavy objects on the floor they can do it in the drawing room instead of bedroom!-

January 17, 2025 at 10:40 amYou have no idea whatโs going on in their house and what they are dealing with. While living in an apartment there will be movement and noises upstairs, because human beings live there.-

January 17, 2025 at 10:42 amSo you are telling me its okay for a senior citizen suffering from Crohns to stay awake till 2-3 am everyday?? If you think its okay, I’ll advise you to Google what Crohns is…I dont care about myself or ny health, what I’m concerned about is my mother’s health which is getting worse due to lack of sleep.-

January 17, 2025 at 10:47 amI never said that. Thereโs a simple solution to deal with noise- using ear buds or noise blocking earpiece. Donโt think society members will start intruding into peopleโs personal spaces and dictate what they should do in their own house.-

January 17, 2025 at 10:51 amYeah, you know these people threatened my mother… we had to hear things like,,, you don’t belong here, leave this place, etc. etc , all she did was politely requested the neighbors not to make noises only at night. After that they started making even more noises at night! Parents should not feel entitled just coz they’ve kids right? If I start playing loud music or if bachelors do that, why do the same people have problem?? -

January 17, 2025 at 10:54 amand FYI, their kid is only 4-5 years old, so she’s physically not capable of dragging heavy objects/furniture on the floor, I am 100% sure the adults are doing it and using their kids as an excuse
