CIt happened yesterday, I was present there along with multiple eye witness bystanders.. a girl was in her scooty crashed into my friend who was literally using his phone on the side of the road.. he was of no fault. then the girl fell and got her scooty broken.. she then started slapping him and asking to compensate.. bystanders and I went to stop the girl.. my friend after take 5-6 slap hit her back(no serious injury but enough to break her grip on his collar).. just now i got a call from his father that police came to his house and arrested him, according to police an assault and moles*ation case has been filed.. they are from a pretty poor family.. i will talk to a lawyer at morning, so thought about asking here.. any suggestions ? i can gather eye witness and maybe video footage too since some were recording the girl slapping my friend..

Cok i will.. should i just transfer the videos to my mobile from them or do i need to do some steps so that none can say it’s edited or something

SSelf Defense : Yes, a person can claim self-defense, but only if the act committed was proportionate to the threat. In your case, a girl was slapping your friend. The right thing for him to do at that moment was to leave the place immediately, note down the number plate, and file a complaint. Instead, he chose to hit her back.
Look OP, I’m in no way supporting the girl here, but claiming self-defense in a country with women-centric laws is difficult. You need solid evidence and witnesses. This case could drag on for a long time, so ask your friend’s family to be prepared. If possible, try to negotiate with the other party by showing them any proof you have and offering a sincere apology. I know what I’m saying may sound like surrendering, but we can’t ignore the fact that your friend’s family is poor and honestly, they might not be able to afford the legal expenses. -

2. Gather All Evidence Now

Cthanks for the advice.. i will do 1,2 as soon as in morning.. i even gathered the detail of a good lawyer but unfortunately he didn’t picked my call (maybe because it’s night).. i will inform the family about 4.. i know local MLA.. if lawyer agrees i can contact him tomorrow..
i didn’t even talk with the officer yet.. some friends and his families with a local advocate has gone to station.. my wild guess is probably police asked about identity in the shops nearby.. since we are local, they all can give his address.. -

Cthings are pretty bad because i personally know him.. the whole family struggled a lot and finally on 8th may he was supposed to join johnsons and johnsons.. it was a boon to that poor family.. now if these cases make him lose the job, i don’t know what will happen.. hope we can sort it out

SThis country is doomed lol. Filing molestation charges after being hit back. Really the fake cases capital of the world. Another life ruined by feminists.
Hope he gets out, since men can’t receive justice in this country. And please get a good lawyer. Else his future is doomed.
Whole wrong to suggest, I hope he gets revenge even if through other means.
