UMy maternal granny just died. She has five siblings, one sibling, her elder sister took care ig granny in her final years, aunt got the pension, deposited it. My mom gave granny a few items in gold out of her money, aunt didn’t do much but stayed with granny,let’s just say that most of my mom’ siblings were abusive towards granny, I won’t into the details here. Now after her death her sons asked for 10Lakhs each to do the deed for granny, aunt said that she will give the money but not all of it right now. My mom and dad gave one of the inherited small land to mom’s greedy brother when he was suffering with finances, mom felt bad for him and asked dad to sign it. Dad never knew that they would turn out this way, mom’s two brothers doesn’t acknowledge her or her husband. When we asked about inheritance to aunt she said that mom will only receive 50k in cash and she herself will take a few lakhs. Dad and me feel that they are being very unfair, mom is still hesitant to even ask aunt. For context, granny worked as a government teacher and her husband was the principal of that government school, granny received grandpa’s pension after his death, aunt received both of theirs in the last 10 years, granny died at 91.
