February 11, 2025 at 6:25 pmI recently came across someone on Telegram who claims to have access to a massive leaked database of Indian users. She says she has **everything** about me—my **phone number, email IDs, parents’ details, Aadhaar info, fingerprints, and even my signature**.This is seriously disturbing. In today’s digital world, this kind of information is enough for identity theft, SIM swap scams, fake loans, and so much more.
I’m struggling to understand how such sensitive data could have been leaked. Was it from a telecom company? Aadhar? Some bank? I have no idea. But the fact that biometric data is also in the wrong hands is terrifying.
# What can I do now ?
If any of you have dealt with data leaks or identity theft, please share your experience. What else should I do?
Also, does anyone know how such massive breaches keep happening in India? Why isn’t there stricter data protection?
Would appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!

February 11, 2025 at 7:59 pmThis is a scam. I keep receiving similar emails on my Hotmail ID every other day. Ignore.
Secure Aadhar with Biometric lock.
Also, personal data being sold is now very common. Have you ever seen how Aadhar centers handle data? All the Xerox copies you provide for loans, cards, and as address proof get distributed and misused to the core. All this is with your consent. Always read T&C. A few years ago Big Basket, Tomato were hacked and all of customer data including card details leaked. Recently some insurance company head only sold all the data to a hacker to make $$$ on the side. -
