Name mismatch between 10th/12th certificates and Aadhaar/PAN for fresh passport application

Need advice regarding name mismatch in educational documents vs current IDs for passport application.

My Class 10th and 12th certificates have my name as:

“FirstName Kumar”

But my Aadhaar, PAN card, graduation documents, and all current IDs have:

First Name: “FirstName Kumar”
Last Name: “[Surname]”

I passed Class 10th/12th in 2015.

I am applying for a fresh passport now and want to avoid objections/delays during verification.

What is the best way to handle this?

– Should I get my school certificates corrected first?
– Or is affidavit + supporting IDs enough?
– Has anyone faced a similar issue during passport application/police verification?

Would appreciate guidance on the safest approach for a seamless passport process.
