January 20, 2025 at 5:14 pmHello
I’m F23 from delhi.I’m planning to fully move out of my parents home and i would like to know the necessary documents i need to take with me so i can rent a place, pay bills, buy a car and all.
I couldn’t figure out the right sub for this and i think lawyers would have the best knowledge in this because i wont have the option of going back once i leave.
I’m planning to move to another state once i leave.
If you have any other related advice for me, I’d gladly appreciate that also. Thanks
Currently the documents i have with me are:
Real Aadhar card hard copy
Real PAN Card hard copy
Birth certificate
All certificates from my schooling till 12th (most of them atleast) -

January 20, 2025 at 5:33 pmMostly I’d proof chahiye hota hai, whenever I have rented they need an id proof to check with police for any priors. To get a job you need to show I guess your qualifications get those as well. Or have them your digilocker.
Bank copies if you have any assets in your name their papers. If u wanna leave them behind to its different thing.

Didn’t get check book by choice. I use net banking..

January 21, 2025 at 10:26 amCheck at your brand if they issued you a chequebook, of no then great. If yes, tell them to deactivate (I guess that’s what they call it) those cheques.I’ve heard about the caste certificate but I don’t know who all have it and who don’t. I don’t have one. No certificate is there for general category people.
Keep the originals with you in a safe place. Keep scanned copies SAVED in your phone and email/ email drive.

January 21, 2025 at 4:09 amBank documents mein bank passbook and chequebook aata hai, but if ur account is PAN linked, you should be able to obtain them again. If your bank account is not linked with your parent’s accounts, then I’d suggest using the same bank and changing address to new location. If you are an old client, it will be easier than opening a new account in a new bank.-

January 21, 2025 at 10:16 amCurrently i don’t have passbook or checkbook, just plain debit card. How can i change the address if im not sure where im going?
I was planning to move out, then contact the bank and change it.

January 21, 2025 at 10:26 amMeri banking mainly online hai. Maine checkbook passbook kuch bank se nhi liya, infact i didn’t even want debit card so i wouldn’t raise suspicion. I don’t want my dad knowing about my baking details. That would set me back seriously

January 20, 2025 at 7:53 pmalong with the documents you should inform the local police station in writing you are leaving your home out of your own free will and you don’t want to be with your parents, because there is a chance they may file a missing complaint.-

January 21, 2025 at 10:29 amas per canismajoris reddit user.
As this is a “family matter,” the police can be reluctant and avoidant in offering assistance. It might be helpful to approach local NGOs for material support, as navigating these types of situations can be daunting. Even better, consider contacting a lawyer who can help you approach this matter in a more robust manner.
To address your query, the following steps are usually taken in such matters:
1. An order under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, specifically the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence order.
2. An injunction, also known as a restraining order, under the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.
If these options fail, you might consider obtaining a civil injunction under Section 94 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
Collect all the necessary pieces of evidence to satisfy the court’s attention. This will not only help you obtain an order but also ensure its permanence. Since this involves restricting someone else’s freedom, the court requires specific and clear proof that such measures are necessary, not just temporarily but permanently.

January 21, 2025 at 10:08 amThe local police station is not in my vicinity. And i really can’t do that..Although i do plan to leave a note that indicates I’ve left. My phone number was bought by my dad and is kinda linked to his phone number plan from Airtel, do you think he’ll be able to suspend that or something? Because if he does then i won’t be able to use my Aadhar or bank.. since that’s also connected to it

January 21, 2025 at 10:28 amThe simcard should be the least of your concerns, you’ll have your entire family/caste behind you to get you back. being young they’ll easily coerce you by saying you’re mentally ill or something. first contact a lawyer near your place and get it done legally. leaving a note and running away won’t work, you won’t be able to leave your area before they catch you and bring you back.

January 21, 2025 at 10:22 amBangalore was my first choice. But as someone who’s kind of cut off from real world, i heavily reply on the info shared by people online and my analysis of its truth. And Bangalore seems really expensive for someone who’s not into nightlife, clubbing, or city savvy.
I just want a safe area with 24/7 electricity and no rowdy daylight , nighttime criminals.
Besides, my income source is not yet finalised so i would like to keep my monthly expenses as low as possible…

January 20, 2025 at 10:54 pmI guess you either have a job or a decent bank balance to sustain. Given that think of all documents you needed for your job or for opening the bank accountPAN
Aadhaar
Passport
Degree certificate
Birth Certificate
Voter idTo rent in any decent locality you would need to show source of income (capability to pay rent for the leased term) – so job appt or HR letter at some point
If you have bank accounts then go to bank and make sure you have the sole cheque book for your account
If you have properties in your name then physical copies of those documents can come in handy at a later time.
Also note if you are taking jewelry or cash with you then have proof of ownership because not the first time that parents sue / file cases on daughters for theft and running away from home with jewelry to gain control on you. If no proof then better leave them be at home and use funds only from bank accounts with your legal ownership.
