February 26, 2025 at 2:08 amMahindra God forbids! I bought XUV700 AX7 On 15 June 2024 and on 1 st July they reduced the price by Rs. 2 lakhs I tried to complain about it but it fell on deaf ears. Any lawyer to take up the matter. I am ready to pay expenses. I feel I am cheated. It may be matter of Consumer courts. . -

February 26, 2025 at 2:26 amIt’s like saying I bought a shirt today for 1000 and the next day the store put it up on sale for 500.There is no cheating here on Mahindra’s part. The car was advertised with a particular price. You agreed on that price and you paid it. In return Mahindra gave you a functional car. Contract for sale and purchase ends here.
If Mahindra later decides to reduce prices after 15 days, it is entirely independent of your transaction with them. Mahindra may even decide to give away ten cars for free or at a throwaway price. Doesn’t mean you get the free car or a heavily discounted car.
You have no case here. Nothing on a legal footing or standing. There is no cheating, fraud, breach of contract, nothing.
The only thing that has happened is that your feelings are hurt that you got a bad deal. Had you waited 15 days you would have got a better price.
Moreover, the amount of money you will end up spending on a lawyer, who will take you for a ride, will be more than 2 lakhs that you could have potentially saved.

February 26, 2025 at 2:43 amHave you heard of the stock market?Brother you have no case here. There are no losses that are occasioned to you by Mahindra.
Assuming your case here. In order for you to make a case for your loss, you need to prove that when you were buying the car you informed Mahindra that you intend to resell it in the open market for a good price. Then Mahindra advises you that yes your car can go for a good 10 lakhs as a resale value. Then Mahindra lowers its prices. In that case you can say that Mahindra at all times knew that you wanted to resell the car and it lowered it prices, which led to you not getting that 10lakh price but instead you got 8 lakhs. Only in that case will the damages that you seek not be remote.
Also, your losses at this point are “notional losses”. You have not actually suffered any loss or damage.

February 26, 2025 at 2:45 amFrom whatever business law I have read this semester, I don’t think there’s much that can be done here. You bought the vehicle with a sound mind, nothing hidden and both parties agreed on all the terms at that point of time. -

February 26, 2025 at 2:52 amWhat’s unfair/discrimination is if the showroom sold a car for 2 lakhs less to some one else on June 15 itself but 15 days later they are free to do anything. This happens to me always on Flipkart and Amazon 😊

February 26, 2025 at 3:24 amI don’t think anything can be done here as Mahindra is not wrong. I understand your loss but if they increase the price after 15 days, will you be willing to pay them the difference for their loss? You won’t pay as your sell is already complete, the same applies vice-versa. -

February 26, 2025 at 3:34 amYou have absolutely no case. These kind of offers keep on popping up every now and then. You just have bad luck. Can’t take someone to court for that. But if you still want to go ahead, you should file a consumer case for deficiency in services by the showroom by not telling you what will happen in the future. Help a lawyer make some money in this process. God will bless you for this.
I am a lawyer.
