Need Advice : Didn’t stop when possibly cops asked to

My building is in a suburban area on a highway. I was returning from office and there were some ladies standing offering paid service. I stopped a bit far ~ 150 meters away as i heard a screeching noise in my rear tyre to check. After checking with my mobile torch, i again started to go my own way not bothered by the ladies. Meanwhile not sure if they were policemen or someone else, came on scooty and asked me to stop – probably for a bribe/other concerns if they’d have. Since it was late in the night with no streetlights, and i was wearing my helmet and all the gear and unsure who the people were, i did not stop and raced ahead. My concern is, if they were police, what action would i face?

Normally i am not worried about this. But need to know what I’d be facing in this situation in case it escalates?

Prostitution is legal. They cannot take any action.

If they call you station, take a lawyer along with you.
