February 1, 2025 at 10:44 amWe’re devastated. My partner’s premium Kanchipuram silk saree, which we bought directly from Kanchipuram for our wedding, has been completely ruined by a dry cleaning service. The saree has shrunk significantly, and the colors have bled all over. This wasn’t just any saree—it’s her bridal saree, and it holds immense sentimental and financial value. What’s worse is that the dry cleaner charged extra, claiming they had special expertise with bridal silk sarees. But after the damage, they’re acting like nothing happened. The owner is outright refusing to take our calls. We haven’t collected the saree yet, fearing they’ll claim the damage occurred after we took it back.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? What legal options do we have to hold them accountable? Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

February 2, 2025 at 1:43 pmLawyer. Slap them with a legal notice. It’s a wedding sari, it cannot be replaced, even if you buy one exactly like it, it wouldn’t be the same thing. At least they should face the consequences.
