February 13, 2025 at 7:40 amHello everyone,
My father bought plot in 2007 from a layout from someone, let’s call it A. The land was registered in A’s name (7/12 in Marathi) . Someone named B had been ploughing the field and had been occupying the land and wasn’t ready to leave the land. The case was going on in the court. Now someone named C has bought the land and is resolving the matter with A and B and they are making settlements that we know a little about. Now, C’s lawyer has asked in newspaper to give notice if anybody has a issue with the land. Now my question is what options do we have? Should we send a notice or take little money that A is offering back without adding inflation. Considering the court cases that last longer than generations. What step should we take? Do we have a right over the plot or not? Please advice -

Anyway, if the money being stuck for some time will make your life difficult then settle. Show some teeth to get better offers-

February 13, 2025 at 8:32 amHey,Yes! The issue isn’t exactly with the money. The issue is the investment he made in the land. The price has rocketed now . Even A and B have sold the land at current price. So either we want our money back at current rate or give us the plot . We do have a agreement and receipt of the money paid. My question is do we have a right over the plot legally or not?-
