March 31, 2025 at 5:15 amHello, all! I was recently posting some nsfw stuff on an nsfw subreddit (face excluded). Long story short, I was approached by someone, who had us shift to another platform to keep talking. They struck up a deal of some sort, during which they got to know my name and were able to find out my contacts. They then attempted to blackmail me with the content I posted here on reddit (I didnt send fhem anything personally), threatening to share it with my friends.
I realise I should’ve seen this coming. I blocked them everywhere, deactivated or made private my socials. I don’t think they’d be able to get in touch with any of my family/friends if they tried. I’m confident about that. However, they are still out there with incriminating pictures of me and the knowledge of my name.
I want to file a police complaint against them, and I wanted to first check the legality of me posting nudes here on nsfw reddit. I haven’t personally PM’d them anything. Is posting nsfw stuff something I could get in trouble for with the law?
Furthermore, I do have some personal details about them but nothing concrete, it would come under word of mouth evidence as I only heard it from them. Is that okay? How should I go about filing a complaint? Would it be okay to do it on the National Cyber crime Portal or is there something else I should consider?
Does anyone have any suggestions, any tips, ANYTHING to help me out at all? I would really, really, really appreciate it.

March 31, 2025 at 6:25 amLawyer here…Don’t waste time on Reddit. Hire a lawyer and make your way to the Police station and register a complaint with the Cyber Crime Dept.
You are a victim of a crime, you need not be scared of anyone.-

March 31, 2025 at 6:50 amI think I will do that. I’m just a little bit hesitant because essentially I consented to an online transactional sexual relationship and am wondering how that translates legally.Thank you.
