January 11, 2025 at 7:48 amHi everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I work in the IT industry, and as we all know, job security can be uncertain. With the unpredictable nature of the economy and the government’s lack of support, I’m the sole provider for my family.I’ve decided to venture into bulk buying products from wholesalers and listing them on Amazon, backed by personal branding. Here’s my concern: The wholesaler is offering products at a price without a GST bill, which reduces my cost slightly. However, I’m unsure about the legal implications of this approach and whether it’s a good idea.
I understand the GST structure—how it’s ultimately passed on to the consumer—but the 18% GST still increases my overall cost. My goal is to minimize expenses, and since I’ll be selling online, GST will be charged anyway on the final sale price, but I want to keep the cost on my end as low as possible.
The purchase in question is around ₹3.6 L without GST. Could anyone—preferably an advocate or legal expert—confirm if it’s acceptable to proceed with this purchase without the GST component? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!
