May 9, 2026 at 5:50 amI stayed in a PG for a few months. During that time, management kept changing my room multiple times, and recently they shifted my room again without properly discussing it with me first. After that I decided to vacate. At the time of joining, I had paid part of the security amount because they themselves allowed partial payment. Before vacating, I informed the manager that I would leave within around 10 days and asked about the remaining security/refund. He informally agreed on WhatsApp, but the owner never clearly responded.
Now after vacating, they are changing their statements regarding the refund/security. Iβve already removed all my belongings and left the room, but I still have the key with me.
My main concern is:
What is the safest way to return the key?
Should I take someone with me while handing it over?
Can they later claim that I never returned the key?
Is it better to hand over the key in person or through courier/video proof?
I also have one key for other room that was given earlier during room shifting. Should I return that too?
I donβt want any fight or drama. I just want to close the matter safely and avoid future issues.
