Need advice regarding surname name change for passport application

Hello, I want to apply for passport for my mother. She has a different surname in her school certificate and aadhaar card. Will this be an issue as she doesn’t have marriage certificate as well to state that her surname changed after marriage. What should I mention in the gazette or the affidavit. Has anyone faced this issue?
