April 29, 2026 at 5:30 pmFolks,My friend is an **SDE 3,** folks with 5+ years of work experience.
A client of my parent company disembarked my friend due to not meeting the client’s expectations**.** He informed his parent company to pay him for the notice period (30 days) when his HR contacted me.
He has worked for more than 2 years with his parent company (1.5+ months with the first company & certain months with the second). They deploy the employee to their clients as a contractor.
Clients’ companies don’t owe notice period payments. His offer letter has this clause to serve a notice period of 1 month from either side.
This is the second time they have put him on an unpaid bench and not paid for the notice period, as he wants to move on now.
The parent company’s HR isn’t responding anymore and is stating that the client hasn’t paid for a notice period. His question is why would a client pay for a notice period, as they have just a contract relationship, not his full-time employer.
His parent company hasn’t shared the FNF settlement summary and experience letter as of now and he has also not demanded again.
His parent company doesn’t seem to be in the mood to pay him for his notice period amount in certain lakhs of rupees.
What can he do now?
