April 29, 2025 at 6:37 amHi everyone, I’m seeking some legal advice regarding an accident I was involved in on 16th May 2024 in Bengaluru. While driving on the highway, a cyclist suddenly came in front of my vehicle, leading to a serious accident. I sustained multiple injuries, including:
-A fracture in my right hand, which required surgery and an implant,
-A nasal fracture, and
-A skull fracture.
The cyclist only had minor bruises and was discharged from the hospital the same day.
However, I was later charged by the police with negligent and rash driving. I also felt that I was harassed by the authorities, possibly because I am from North India, and the incident happened in Bengaluru.
Due to the trauma, my injuries, and the stress caused by this, I have left Bengaluru permanently and even had to quit my job. I’m currently not in a position to travel back to Bengaluru to deal with the legal proceedings.
My lawyer is suggesting that I plead guilty, stating that the court might only impose a minor fine, and the case would be closed quickly.
Before I go ahead, I would really appreciate a second opinion:
Is it advisable to plead guilty in this case just to close the matter, even if I believe the accident wasn’t entirely my fault?
Could there be long-term consequences to this?
Is there a way to handle this case remotely without traveling back to Bengaluru?
Thanks in advance for your help.

April 29, 2025 at 6:56 am1. What does pleading guilty mean for your drivers license and criminal record, both in best and worst case scenario as per your lawyer?
2. Is there any evidence presented by the accuser apart from the medical records?-

April 29, 2025 at 7:04 am1. He is saying at max 5-10k fine from court and case will be solved. For criminal record I will ask.2. There are no evidence, except they can create false witnesses. Police supporting them. Even police officer with 3star rank asked me -Why you are here? I replied- Due to job. He said- Dont you have jobs there? I asked them please release my bike and I will leave Bengaluru. Also they provided different cycle in evidence when I did visit to police station. The guy was on normal atlast/hero cycle but police produced damaged BITWIN ranger cycle. On my objection investigation officer told me you met an accident you were not aware. I told him I was conscious after accident and checked the other guy and his cycle. Its not the same. Then he said it doesnt matter its the cycle only.

April 29, 2025 at 10:45 amThere seems to be a foul play going on in your case. The other party seems to have bribed the police into taking his side. Please contact u/st_broseph and have a talk with Dushyant Dubey Ji and figure out what can be done. -

April 29, 2025 at 11:03 amQuestion, is do you want to fight the case for 10-15-20 years? If no, please please guilty. It’s just some fine you pay and you move on with life.
Else, spend your money, time and health for dealing with the case which has absolutely no surety of winning at all.
PS : Not just in Bangalore, it happens in may places. Remember – police is almost the same every where

April 29, 2025 at 11:16 amIf you didn’t do anything wrong then why plead guilty. Fight the case. If you plead guilty then you will have a convicted tag forever. Case will run for a long time yes but it’s about right and wrong. In my opinion don’t bow down. -
