B– An edtech company (Crio.do) has been sending me 10–15 promotional emails daily for the past 1–2 years
– I never recall giving consent to receive marketing emails
– I have unsubscribed multiple times, but emails continue
– Their listed phone number is not reachable
– I emailed them asking for proof of consent + to stop emails — no proper response (after sending 5 to 6 emails to revert back on my query once upon agent came up and replied)
– One support agent claimed my email was removed, but I still received another promo email within minutes
Questions:
– What legal options do I have in India for unsolicited spam like this?
– Can this be taken up under IT Act / consumer protection / data privacy rules?
– Where should I file a complaint (TRAI, consumer court, cyber cell, etc.)?
– Is it worth pursuing legal action or sending a legal notice first?
Would appreciate guidance on next steps 🙏
