I(22M) along with my sister(24) and mom (43) stay in bangalore for lease. My neighbours(2 male brothers) have been causing trouble to my sister by using loud speakers and woofers from past 1.5 years. She has WFH. She was also admitted to hospital 6 months back due to chronic migraine. Bill came upto 13k. Now it has worsened and she needs to get admitted again.

Step 1 : I first tried telling them politely about the issue at first. They too agreed. But they keep doing this again and again.
Step 2 : Informed the neighbour’s owner about the same and he too won’t help as he is too old. Neighbour’s Owner says he can’t vacate them as they are rowdy type and are staying in that house from past 10 yrs🀐. (We can’t vacate our house now coz the lease is for 3 yrs and currently only 1.5 yrs is over)
Step 3 : Called 100 twice and both times the police had warned them. They would act nice infront of police and getaway with warning.
Step 4 : Had filed a complaint in the police station for nuisance and harassment.

The neighborhood are scared to complaint or tell proof for the trouble. Now they are onto ego and causing even more troubles like staring, stalking, abusing and wantedly increasing the base of the speaker(coz you can’t record base).

Is there a legal remedy for this or can something be done from the police side. Please help out.

          Final year law student here,
Avoid legal hassle, you already know that they are like rowdy types, which clearly means that they have no value for life, but you are a human, you have responsibilities, and avoid these criminals at any cost, as even if you take any legal step, the case is not that strong, and they will easily come out from the jail and will definitely make your life hell. There is no proper law and order in this country. This country has already gone to hell, better take care of your family and try to avoid all these situations.
One thing you can do is buy a good, expensive ANC headphone for your sister. This will be the perfect thing since you are living in a rental, so no structural change is possible, so headphones are the best way.
Avoid the hassles of the police and legal system. In India, victims often bear the consequences.

I am not a medical professional, so I don’t know about this. But it seems you have little knowledge on this, so I will be very happy if you further help OP in this regard.

ANC headphones themselves don’t cause tinnitus in healthy ears, but how they’re used (volume levels and duration) can play a role in tinnitus perception.

Even I don’t want to go legal. Infact this was the first time I went to police station. When I said to the inspector they have been troubling from past 1 year. You know what the police replied? He said “So what should I do? Should I become a security to your house?” I was flabbergasted by his reply.
