Aso last year June my new home construction started and it had been going great till out furniture started. the guy we gave the contract to, let’s call him mukesh, said that the whole furniture will be done before 1 may and we can have our house warming according to my mother’s and dad’s belief that the best mahurat is on 10 may.
But, after only 2 weeks of working, starting on March 1, he and his workers completely disappeared. My father, brother, mom, all of us were very stressed cus of him not picking up calls and he had taken like 2.5 L and this continues for a fine 3 weeks.
Then, he came back, told us that he got into some legal trouble cause he beat up 2 of his workers cus they drank and went to a client’s place and that they were in an ICU ☠️. He promised that he would come everyday and the work will be done before 8 may and hell pick up the calls and allat.he continued the work for a week and then, AGAIN DISAPPEARED !
He has our money and idk what mess he’s in but he isn’t even contacting us. my father already gets so stressed on normal things and this has not too much but yes, stressing him.
we did not sign a legal bond for the contract or anything like that. What can we do in this situation to track him down or contact him, we don’t want to go into legal stuff. We tried contacting his relatives and family but ever they’re pissed at his shit.
please give me some advice

DHi. I’m a lawyer here. Try getting a new person on board possible and get your money refunded, because the reliability factor seems to be zero here. And do you retain him, try signing a written contract with him, that makes him feel bound. What you have with him is still an oral contract but it’s hard to prove in case there is a legal dispute.

DTry contacting him from an unknown number, or text him that you’ll file a police complaint against him for running away with your money without providing the promised service, if he doesn’t show up.

DYou’re most welcome. If nothing works, just send him a legal notice in due course, demanding refund and all the damage caused due to his inaction.
