        Guys, need urgent help!

Yesterday, my father fell victim to an APK scam and lost around ₹93,000. It’s been almost 22–23 hours now. Since it happened on Good Friday, the bank was closed and we couldn’t act immediately.

He filed a cybercrime complaint, and we received a text confirming it’s been registered. But when we try to follow up on the given number, the police say they’ll call us once they receive the complaint — which they should have already.

The complaint is registered in Surendranagar, Gujarat. If anyone has contacts in the cyber cell or local police, or any suggestions on what to do next, please help. Really appreciate any support!

I am not expert in this but that’s what I’ll follow

Remove sim from the phone where you’ve installed apk file make sure there is no email or anything linked with your bank or any bank app is present even Gmail or any email notifications , turn off wifi too ..

If possible remove everything related to bank or just reset your device , but if you want to show it to someone for inspection that what actually happen then resetting might not be a good option

Also put your sim in another phone and install bank app or setup your email on that new phone to keep track what’s happening

That’s why you should use iPhones instead.

If you think iPhones are 100% secure, you’re delusional. But yes, the OS is better protected than Androids.

Nothing is 100% secure. Even banks get hacked. But it’s much much more safer than an android.

That’s what I said. iOS when compared to Android is secured. You’re correct

In other words when you are using iphone it’s like wearing a bulletproof vest . They are heavy and uncomfortable. Iphone IOS won’t let you do basic things because of security reasons but still they can get shot in face or legs .

XCodeGhost, Raider, Hermit, Pegasus, all of them are iOS malwares. All these exploits are just the tip of the iceberg. No phone is safe if not handled properly and every phone is safe if you know what you’re doing and what’s happening inside of it.
