UThis morning, my mother (a higher secondary teacher) experienced a disturbing incident. Our neighbor, an elderly man, stood in his sit-out and deliberately exposed himself to her in an obscene manner. She was shocked and deeply disturbed.
We have some video evidence, though it’s not very clear—his lungi is visible, but not his full body.
However, my mother does not want to file an FIR or take legal action that may require court involvement, as she is a working professional. She just wants to ensure this man is warned and does not repeat such behavior.

SGo to local police station. Talk to local police. You can inquire their minimum cash for you know before going in. If the officer are nicer they prolly will do it for free. Tell them to come unofficially and warn the neighbour.

SI’ve personally never done it. But seen and heard lot such a shit around me. Just said it to consider a possibility so you don’t end up feeling trapped if they ask money. I feel like with your situation they would most likely agree for free help.

UYeah here’s the thing,this is not the first time we’re complaining about them.We’ve done this before and the police called both the parties to the office but for different reasons and his son showed up instead of him,that dude dipped using medical records or some shit and eventually nothing happened and he’s flashing now

URecording is important to have the evidence that u have not abused or physically harmed the man.
Ok then do one thing, file a complaint on the State Commission of Women portal. Police khud ghar pe aake bolegi ke maalik pehle humare paas aa jaate. Constitutional body hai jaroor help milegi.
Yaha koi manipulation nhi chalega unkaa coz the discretion of police is no more, they’ll get orders to act against the man from the commission. Unhe bhi unki naukri bachaani hai toh voh bhi vohi karenge jo kaha gaya hai.

You can file a complaint to the women’s police regarding this and ask them to not file a FIR and leave him with a warning instead -

UFile a complaint by yourself. Instead of asking your mom to file a complaint, you do it. Also, assuming you are an adult, try not to make further excuses and take the responsibility of pursuing the complaint yourself, don’t drag your mum into all this. That way she wouldn’t be bothered by any of it and you’d have to face the coppers when it comes to it.

UEither you do it the right way, that way your mum gets involved or you do it, concoct the story from your POV and get the ball rolling. Filing a formal complaint does not land you in the court directly. The cops would call the perpetrator to the PS to get the process started. Worst comes to worst they’ll proceed with the registration of case. Take a steadfast decision dude! No point lingering with the idea of getting back at him.

BLawyer here, Exaggerate and file a complaint. Make a story around the video you have, stating the guy flashed his dick in his sit-out and when your family member was carrying out daily chores he started using his tool. Upon your family member informing you the same, you went to get your phone to record but he immediately wore his lungi to hide his tool.
Be cautious about spreading such videos publicity, as the guy can file for defamation.
File an FIR for obscene act under 296 of BNS and 79 for insulting the modesty of a woman.

If yes
Then talk to them about the incident. Or;2. Go ahead with the police option and ask them if they can deal with it informally
