UHey everyone,
I’m dealing with a frustrating situation in Bihar, India and could really use some advice. My father owns a piece of land (we have all the proper documentation and paperwork in his name), but our neighbors are actively preventing us from building houses on our own property.
Every time we try to start construction, they interfere and create problems. Specifically, the women in the neighborhood are the ones creating most of the issues. We’ve already taken this matter to our local Sarpanch (village head) who made a decision in our favor (faisla), but these women are refusing to accept the Sarpanch’s ruling and continue to obstruct our construction efforts.
This has been going on for a while now, and we’re not sure what legal steps to take next since they’re ignoring the local authority’s decision.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation in Bihar? What’s the best way to handle this when neighbors are defying the Sarpanch’s ruling? Should I approach higher local authorities, file a police complaint, or go straight to legal action?
Any advice from people who understand how property disputes work in Bihar would be greatly appreciated. I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who’s successfully resolved a similar situation.

GGo to the civil court which has jurisdiction of the area in which you have land,
File a suit for permanent injunction restraining your neighbours from interfering with your property. -

DHere is what bro gotta do:
1. Realise this is india so people will block your progress for any number of reason like, maybe there is some old family feud or even just think you look funny.
2. No amount of legal help might help with the locals. Aap kagazi kachari m jeet jaoge lekin aapke neighbours can make it very inconvenient for you.
3. So what should you do- hire 3-4 goons and terrorise and harass your neighbours to “calm” them down.
4. Bribe the local police. Laal batti supremacy.
5. Main heroine ko chedna, gareeb kisan ki zameen par apna kabza karna, and maybe if you get lucky aur picture k hero se jeet jao then you can construct what ever you want on your land. Else chod de bhai tere bass ka nahi hai…
Just putting this out here- point 4 & 5 ko joke ki trah lena aur promoting corruption and glorifying movie villains is not good. Its bad.

PThe real question is, say you manage to go through all the trouble and build the house, do.yoh really want to start a life with so much negativity around?
Why are they preventing you from building the house? Also, how are they preventing? If they are stopping building mayerial, send a notice via police and deploy bouncers. -

SI had a similar issue in Uttarakhand. And similar to you the sarpanch and panchayat ruled in our favor. But some locals had issues with me building a large house there on my own land.
I bribes local cops, got gunmen from delhi, and had to essentially do gundagardi to get the construction done.

R1. Tough way: formally file police report, ask protection, construct boundary wall and put up a Guard atleast. File a injunction petition and assert all possible legal claims in a white-collared manner
2. Simple way: Tell parents to leave this enchantment of paternal land and jamin ka moh-maaya. Convince them to sell it off to another local guy, without getting neighbours or mohalla involved. U will find ample local strongman to buy but at discounted rate directly. And don’t expect any profit whatsoever
3. Straight way: Read comments above and put up private security and gunmen. You will get it easily when u shell out money in our beloved Bihar State. But then if you are not going to reside there , is it worth it ?
Btw, Panchayat will be useless in such case
