Old 500rs Notes, What to do? Any way to monetize it?

We have found very old significant 500rs notes bunch and we dont know what to do with these. And going city (tier 2) RBI they said nothing can be done, no exchange or anything.

If any details, most 90% are 500rs notes. And only bit of 1000rs notes. And other details, only one person files ITR in our fam (direct fam) as they are the only ones falling in tax bracket.
