April 3, 2025 at 9:26 amI have paid Rs.2700/- today morning (i.e, 3rd April 2025) to one of my relatives upon being asked by my cousin, but there are two relatives with the same name, and I sent the payment to the wrong relative’s bank account, whose accoung is not in use since 2020, neither does she have any atm card nor remember the atm pin, so she cannot withdraw/send my money back.I contacted my bank’s cs and they registered a complaint, but they asked me to wait for 21 days to give me any resolution, I tried to fill a form at https://www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/upi/dispute-redressal-mechanism but when I click the submit option, it doesn’t get submitted.
Is there anyway to reverse the transaction? The receiver will consent to reverse it, if needed. Please guide me through this. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

April 4, 2025 at 3:15 amSince the account was not in operation since 2020 it will be in Dormant status. If your relative can visit the nearest branch with their KYC documents, they can request for the account to be activated again. Once activated, they can simply GPAY the amount back to you. GPAY can be activated without ATM card as well, as long as she has access to the registered number of her account and aadhar.
