Hey everyone, I really need some advice right now. I am currently living in a PG in Noida (mamura sector 66).

So what happened was I went to my home town for about 10 days on 9 january. I wasn’t planning to leave the PG and so didn’t gave any notice. I was living with my cousin in a double sharing room so the whole room was ours for the month and so we locked the room and took the key with us. After I came back on 22 january, I saw the lock was not there and the room was locked from the inside and there were 2 people living in there for 2 days they said and they were even using our bed sheets, pillow blanket which was mine, not the owners. The owner of the PG broke the lock and let them stay in our room saying that it’s his room and they can stay for now as other rooms had some issues. The owner did all this without informing us.

So I told the owner that I’ll no longer live here and after my month has completed I’ll leave and you’ll return my security amount of 2000 rupees. Now my month is completing tomorrow , 31 January, and so today I asked him to return my security amount and he’s refusing to return it. I said that it’s not right and he didn’t inform me before breaking the lock and putting other people in my room so he’s saying that it’s their building, their rooms and they can do this and they are saying that “rent dete ho iska matlab kharid thodi liya hai, building hamari hai aur hm ye kar skte hai” even though I had not given any notice and my rent was paid. I told that I’ll have to take legal action if you don’t return my security amount then he’s saying that ki “legal action ki maa ki c***, saare hamare bhai hai jo Krna hai karlo” . He doesn’t want to listen and talkin very rudely.

So please people of reddit, give some advice on what I can do in this case. Should I argue and try to call police or leave the 2000 rupees that I’ve paid as it’s not worth the hassle.

I would suggest leave that money and move on. Happened with a friend and police won’t do shit for 2000 as they wont get their cut.
Mamura is anyway a fucked up area.

β‚Ή2K is too small an amount to consider legal action. Even if everything were ideal (which we know is not the case), you would end up spending more in general expenses handling the situation, even without an advocate.

Before considering legal action, ask yourself if you have the proper documentation, such as proof of rent or a rental agreement for the said room.

              Don’t you feel angry?!
              Dont you feel betrayed?!
Dont you want to take revenge, beat up that old fool?!

For this and more, keep eye on when and where this fool goes..have some of your friends jump him when he least expects it.
