UI’m 22M a final year student and also working full time. I have to go early to college and wake up by 5:30 AM.
I live with flatmates in a 2BHK shared flat. The guy in sharing room with and his brother lives in the flat and act as owners as they have leased the whole flat from owner and then sub leased to flatmate.
I went out and the flatmate locked door of our shared room from inside and when I came back home. I knocked on the door and gave few missed calls to the guy as I was getting late for college. The guy opened the door furiously and refused to let me in our our shared room. He also forcefully pushed me outside and crammed my hand between the door. His brother got up and pushed and slapped me really hard. I felt so disrespected and humiliated. I’m paying the full rent for room on time and I have no access to it. The guy often calls his girlfriend and keep the room locked.
I want to pursue legal action and file police complaint. Please guide me how should I go about it in the best way possible to teach them a lesson.

LPolice would loot you first they’ll say either file a FIR or we can’t do anything once you resist in filing Fir they’ll say give us a written letter saying it’s my personal decision for not filing a fir if any thing happens in future police would not be responsible, then they’ll say give us XYZ amount we will deal with them outside police station,OP Would give the money they’ll go to ur flatmates would take money from them also for not doing any thing to them, you’ll again have brawl with ur flatmates. Simply change ur flat there are a lot of pg in Mumbai start searching in Andheri or somewhere
