May 4, 2025 at 5:51 am**Bank, instead of seizing the flat, locked the common stairs going to the rooftop.**All of our building flat owners are not able to access the rooftop for water tank maintenance. Every time we have to ask for keys from the asset recovery branch, they send me to the bank, and vice-versa.
Life has become hell, and now they are telling us they will not share the keys because we are asking very frequently, i.e., it is completely a lie. **As I asked them why they would not share the key, they told me the district magistrate had seized the property.**
Due to having little knowledge of the law, I don’t know how to tackle this unwanted situation. Please help. Can banks really seize common stairs in order to take over their loaned property?
P.S. The loan defaulter flew away and is completely out of touch. His/her flat is on the top floor.

May 4, 2025 at 6:55 amSince the district magistrate put the lock as per the bank, what will be the right procedure to handle this issue legally? I am a middle-class common man, don’t just want to take the law into my hands to attract any unwanted consequences.-
