April 20, 2025 at 3:45 pmI really need help on this please.I went to bank with the fd form they previously gave me with my “signature on it, account number, tick to credit it to my savings a/c with them, and for rest I expected them to fill”..but there the RM took help from a senior official to open my fd, they used their banking app on my phone and the fd was opened instantly, so I thought the form was not used and they will discard it.
So my question is if they don’t properly discard it (assuming they didn’t see that I already filled with my a/c no and signature) and they just throw it in the trash. If someone finds the fd form could they open fd on my name and have interest/full maturity amount transferred to their bank account? Or does the interest/full maturity from the FD necessarily have to be credited only to one of my bank accounts only?
For maturity payment there are three options I think, 1) my savings a/c, 2) other bank saving a/c (requires a/c no. and ifsc), 3) cheque/dd (requires name and city).
Is it possible to have the FD maturity/interest credit to someone else’s account by misusing option 2 & 3? Or is there some rule or law makes it mandatory for FD to be credited to my account only?
