April 26, 2025 at 8:37 amHi All, I’m currently Indian citizen who has applied for Portugal passport (Goan- in the last leg of process).Have an appointment on 20th May ’25, after which in 25 days I’ll get my Portugal passport couriered to me in India, at my current residence.
I’ll apply immediately for OCI, too.
However, here is where my issue lies. I am currently working with a listed Indian organisation, and even if I resign today, I’d still have 3 months’ notice period.
My questions are-
1. If I don’t resign and continue working for the next 9 months, would it be a legal issue?
2. If working would be a legal issue, then what can be done, what is the solution.
3. Does PAN get surrendered, too? Since salary would be credited or PAN can be changed as per citizenship?Extremely confused. Seeking your guidance, would be grateful.

April 26, 2025 at 1:56 pmOnce you get your Portugal Passport you are foreigner working in India. Just OCI is not enough. You need an India work Visa.PAN will be different. Bank will change – you no longer can have a SB account.
Do not listen to half baked nonsense. Talk to a CA or advocate. Check with your HR beforehand too. They cannot hire foreigners in any position. There are specific requirements that the company also needs to do to hire a foreigner.

April 26, 2025 at 3:12 pmYou yourself are sprouting nonsense. OCI itself has an unrestricted work clause. OCI can work without any work visa.-

May 3, 2025 at 9:55 pmFor goans it depends on which route/method they are choosing. Some are eligible through lineage route, while others through naturalization method. Lineage route doesn’t require Portuguese language proficiency test, but naturalization does.-
