March 4, 2025 at 4:14 pmHello,My family and i are looking to buy an apartment, and m brother wants to take the loan on his name, but He is in the US, and can’t sign the documents, he wants to give my father the power to do so, what are the steps required so He can vest the power to my father without him coming to India. Thank You.

March 4, 2025 at 4:21 pmFirst ask the bank will they accept POA for loan disbursal. If they say yes, then you need to get the POA drafted by a lawyer and your brother has to get same notarized and apostle from US and courier same to you. I recently got mine done like this.-

Once in india you need to accept it under a 500 stamp paper duly notarised

March 4, 2025 at 5:04 pmWhen banks become a party, they insist on registered POA. So doubt if they accept notarized poa. I have seen some get it done at the Indian consulate.
