UHey everyone. I rented out an apartment in Pune with three other people last year and my share of the rent was paid off in advance for roughly 8 months. Anyway, the owner kicked us out in January and refuses to pay me back my remaining 29k. His excuse being he won’t pay me back until the other roommates clear their dues. They have no dues. Hes lying about rent being post paid when we’ve always paid before the 10th of every month. He’d pressure us to pay by the 3rd even though the 10th was the agreement date. But he falsely claims rent is post paid. I’ve argued with him for months now. He doesn’t even pick up my calls. I’m in Gujarat currently and I went to the local cops here but they didn’t do anything. Will going to Pune cops help? What can I do to get my money back from this guy?
Not to mention I’m broke as hell. I can’t afford to go to court. I don’t know what to do anymore.
