“My wife and I have been legally registered married for the past one and a half years. Her parents are against the realationship and they just found out we are married , they are not allowing her to leave the house, threatening suicide. What can I legally do to get her out of that house?”

Lawyer here. File a police complaint, then file a _habeas corpus_ petition in the concerned High Court

Filing a police complaint won’t be an issue , should i hire a lawyer to file for habeas corpus ?

Lawyer here. Yes, you’ll need a lawyer for a _habeas corpus_. In your police complaint, ensure that it says your wife has been abducted and wrongfully restrained by her parents

Apart from the above. You can also file a smaller case, called restitution of conjugal rights. In a local civil court.

File a FIR. Assuming she is an adult of course.

Try resolving the matter out of the court and without any disputes, there might be someone from your in-laws side who might be willing to help you both out. Talk things out, what problem they are having, if it’s a caste problem then as I said someone from in-laws side can help, if it’s something related to finance or your image this can be resolved by you.

don’t use law or lawyer (no offence to anyone), use good words to win over.
