April 27, 2026 at 10:48 amI’m a college student and need some serious legal guidance regarding an ongoing situation with my ex-girlfriend.
Background:
We were in a relationship for ~2 years during school.
After joining the same college, she cheated on me in the first semester. I chose to end things and move on without conflict.
First Complaint (3rd Semester):
In the third semester, she filed a complaint under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 (POSH) against me.
This came as a shock because I had not engaged in any behavior that would fall under harassment.
The process caused significant mental stress to me and my family, especially my mother.
The matter was eventually handled internally and did not escalate further, but it affected my record and mental health.
Current Situation:
It has been about 6 months since that incident.
I have had no contact with her since then and have actively avoided any interaction.
Now, I’ve been informed that another complaint/case has been filed against me (details not yet disclosed).
I have been called to the director’s office tomorrow with my parents.
My Concerns:
What are my legal rights in this situation, especially if repeated complaints are being made?
If the allegations are false or malicious, what actions can I take under Indian law?
Should I have a lawyer present or consult one before attending the meeting?
How should I conduct myself during this meeting to avoid making things worse?
Is there any way to formally document that I’ve had no contact and protect myself from further allegations?
I’m honestly very stressed because this is happening again despite me maintaining complete distance. Any advice—legal or procedural—would really help.
