Son 16 came to live with me in dec., our daughter lives with her mother, and my ex-wife isnโ€™t fighting me to stay on child support. I do owe some rears and want to continue paying what I am to get that caught up, but I need all of it to go to rears until it is brought to current. Then I want to get the support stopped. You know she mainly supports one as I would. I canโ€™t afford 300 dollars an hour. I just donโ€™t make enough, Will pay or make payments, but if thereโ€™s a way to do it without a lawyer please let me know. I just canโ€™t afford it which is why I need the support to stop after brought to current. Only a small portion of it is going to tears now. Any solid help and advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you

this sounds more like a situation where the actual living arrangement has already changed but the support order has not caught up with reality yet which is why the arrears and current payments are getting mixed together the part that usually matters most is having clear proof that your son has been primarily living with you since december because support issues often turn heavily on that practical day to day arrangement have you already documented things like school records address changes or medical paperwork showing he has been staying with you consistently rather than just temporarily

Yes I got him right into school. I donโ€™t think his mother will fight it. She seemed pretty willing to get it straight. Just not sure what to do, clerk of court says to get a lawyer. They wanted 300 dollars for a hour over the phone consultation. I have to work a day and a half to pay for one hour. If I can do it I would like to try myself.
