Scammed in Prayagraj

So i booked some room through a website during my visit to Prayagraj for 3500 for payment there was Mobile number available for upi, i send him 1500 and 2000, he told me to send 3500 in one go only then he would book my room and return excess 3500( 1500 + 2000).

I known its a scam what should i do
I have the transaction details
and mobile number of the scanner.

Okay, you were just scammed, not killed in the stampede,that’s lucky.

Anyway, the lack of civic sense and the hunger for money,his greed ,is what I’ve seen during these Kumbh Mela days in Prayagraj.

People are scamming others, and visitors are openly defecating on the ground and near roads,seeing shit everywhere ,dumping waste everywhere. Many abusers in the crowd are inappropriately touching women .Horrible things are happening here.

ADVOCATE HERE. INR 3500/- is relatively lower amount for anyone to approach court, though you may get appropriate relief along with costs there. Nonetheless, it will be easier for you to report the fraud to local cyber police station and seek reversal of UPI from your bank on basis of said complaint. Whether you will get it or not, is an answer no body can give.

NCH is merely an attempting body, it will only “request” the hotel to return, but you can surely try. NPCI does not entertain complaints.

UPI transactions can be reverted in some time frame, but I think that’s applicable to businesses only, just search a bit about it
