April 27, 2026 at 6:10 amHi everyone,My child is enrolled in Grade 3 at Vibgyor school Balewadi branch in Pune. We are relocating to Kolhapur and requested an **inter-branch transfer** to their Kolhapur branch.
At the time of admission in 2nd grade, the school explicitly told us that inter-branch transfer is easy and can be done anytime with just a ₹2500 processing fee. We have already paid the 1st installment. **School for 3rd grade hasn’t even started yet**.
Now, when we raised the transfer request, they replied:

They are now closing the service request and asking for feedback.
My questions:
1. Can the school force us to pay the next installment at the current branch before processing an inter-branch transfer, especially when the academic year hasn’t started and we are relocating?
2. Does this contradict their earlier verbal assurance of easy transfer with only ₹2500?
3. Is there any legal recourse? Can we approach the District Education Officer, consumer forum, or court? (We just want a smooth transfer without extra pressure to pay future fees at the old branch.)
4. Has anyone faced similar issues with school chain inter-branch transfers in Maharashtra (or Pune/Kolhapur area)?Any advice, similar experiences, or relevant judgments would be really helpful. We want to ensure a smooth transition for the child without unnecessary financial burden.
Thanks in advance!
