April 2, 2025 at 1:02 pmsoo, theres a shop from where i buy milk everyday, and i have noticed that they charge 1 rupee more than MRP, which is hilarious lollike a nandini blue milk costs 24 rupees but they sell it in 25, similarly once i went to buy a curd at night and payed 26 before they gave it and was abt to leave then the shop owner reminded me to pay 1 rupee more as its their policy to charge 27 for curd at night,
look, im not someone who’ll go to court for just 1 rupee but isnt it illegal to sell things above MRP price ?, what would happen if they do that ?

April 2, 2025 at 1:16 pmYes it is illegal to charge above msrp. Shops might cite refrigeration charges, but it is on the shop to maintain perishable goods at their required temperatures till the goods are sold. -

April 2, 2025 at 1:37 pmSimple solution is to don’t buy from those shops. It happens everywhere. For cold drinks, also they charge. The profit margin is very less that’s why to compensate that they charge higher.-

April 2, 2025 at 5:19 pmEven I am facing the same issue. I also threatened them to complain but they said *uck off. I am looking for a solution here rather than comments suggesting to purchase from other shops. All shops are following this practice.-
