April 25, 2025 at 8:57 amHi everyone,I really need some advice here.
A few months ago, I was contacted by a counselor from **Sikkim Manipal University (Online)** for their MCA course. I clearly told him that I was **financially not ready to join the upcoming batch**. He then told me that I could just **complete the admission process now**, and **join the next batch (or even next year’s)** when I’m financially ready. He added that if I waited till next year, the **fees would go up and the course duration might change** — and that EMIs would only start when my batch starts.
**Trusting that**, I completed the admission process. But after a few days, **EMI messages started coming**, even though **classes hadn’t even started**, and I never attended a single session.
Since March, I’ve been asking for **cancellation**, and they said it’s being processed. I even emailed both Techfino and Sikkim Manipal on April 2 with all my concerns and cancellation request. Yet, **Techfino keeps sending daily EMI reminders** and threatening **credit score damage**, even after I provided them with all proof (email, WhatsApp chat, call logs, etc.). Also On April 2nd I **called official Manipal helpline**, where the rep told me cancellation takes “about 7 days.”
A few days ago, I called the **Manipal helpline again** to ask about this ongoing issue. The representative said he would contact my counselor to get an update. Shortly after, my counselor called me back. I have **audio recording of the helpline call** and a **video recording of the conversation with the counselor**, where he clearly says that the **cancellation is processed** and I won’t face any problems. But now it’s **April 25**, and still there’s no resolution — **Techfino says they’ll continue reporting to credit bureaus** until Manipal refunds them, while **Manipal says the process is still ongoing and will take another 10–15 days.**

I’m being mentally harassed now for EMIs **for a course that hasn’t even started**, where I followed their words in good faith. Looking for advice on:
* Anyone else facing similar with Manipal or Techfino
* How to stop the harassment before my credit gets hitThanks in advance 🙏 Appreciate any guidance 🙏
