Someone is impersonating me on a dating app

As the title says, someone created a fake profile, put my picture there and wrote “looking for fun casual dates” & “intimacy without commitment”. I am 19 and have never been on any such apps. This has horrified me and immensely stressed me out. I lodged a legal complaint online on our cyber crime portal.

My friends tried talking to some suspected people who are not on good terms with me (college batchmates only, all) and we have a few doubts.

Will they help with finding the email address and IP address with which this was done? How long will the process take? What are the repercussions that the suspect will face?

Any help/advice is appreciated! Thank you

Ask your friends who come across the profile to report it under catfishing, the app will suspend the acc and ban the user. Then maybe go ahead and try to find out who did it. If you have proper evidence, then approach college authorities.

Lodge a complaint with cyber cell, one email per day. Involve your parents the IP will be traced.

Are you a make or a female. If a female say this was started when you were a minor and 17 years old and invoke POSCO, sir back and enjoy the fireworks.
