April 23, 2025 at 2:05 pmMy cousin got his divorce finalised in February and the final divorce decree was issued in March by family court. Now the cousin’s ex has appealed in high court and they have issued a stay order.
I want to understand if that is possible and what should my cousin expect going forward?

April 23, 2025 at 2:08 pmIn contested divorces, yes itβs possible. There is a provision to appeal against the divorce decree, within the statutory time period. -

April 30, 2025 at 1:04 pmLawyer here.As long as the divorce is not by mutual consent, any party can file an appeal, in which a stay order may be granted.
The next step would be to appear before the High Court and try to get it decided.
