11 months ago, valuables worth ₹10 lakh (ac compressor, copper wire) were stolen from our office. Our insurance company requires an FIR to process our claim, but the police have refused to file one, citing the lack of CCTV footage and no leads on the thief.

We have repeatedly told them that we don’t expect them to solve the case—we just need the FIR for insurance purposes. Despite this, they have not issued one. Now, our insurance company has given us a deadline to submit the FIR, or the claim will be closed.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? What are our options to get the FIR? Would filing a complaint with higher authorities or legal action help? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
