Summon for a case as a witness

Hi,

10 years ago, during a trip, a local guide molested one of the friends and we registered FIR that time. Now, 10 years later, I have got summon for the same case as a witness. When I mentioned that I won’t be able to appear, I have been told that warrant will be issued against me for my absence. How can I drop my name as a witness? I’m not in touch with that girl, who fired FIR, also anymore.

Would advice giving your statement through video call. That is acceptable by courts.

The name of the court will be written on the summon, search their website. You’ll most likely find the official email address of that court/judge. Send an email requesting to record your statement on video conference. Clearly mention your name, case number, hearing date or you can attach the summon.
