Swapping seats in the bus

Me and my gf are travelling in a sleeper bus, We couldn’t get nearby seats. She has a single seat and I have one seat in the opposite compartment (it has 2 seats). The guy with me asked if we are together he can exchange, So he did.

Now the conductor came after sometime and told us to switch back. Kisse puch k kari thi ? Madam waps jao 5min m, nahi to humein apko Zabardasti aage bithana pdega.

We have switched back for now but this is a 12 hour journey. When my gf asked who complained ? He said the staff did. But staff never came here. I suspect that it may be the old uncle from upper birth.

Shall I push it ? On legal grounds ? If all 3 of us want can we swap seats ? It is Raj Ratan Travels btw.
